About the Soiree’

The Silver Bell Soiree started in 1997 as a small event hosted by Gachassin Law Firm to recognize volunteers of Lafayette Community Health Care Clinic.  The event grew each year and in 2005, individuals interested in fundraising for the Clinic formed the Silver Bell Foundation.

This is the fourteenth  anniversary of the Silver Bell Soiree which thanks to our sponsors, guests and volunteers continues to be a tremendous success.   In 2010, Golden Angel Sponsors supporting the Silver Bell Soiree were the Gachassin Law Firm, Bo and Jerry Ramsay – Aries Marine, the Coushatta Tribe of Louisiana and  the Landry Harris Insurance Co.

Funds raised through the Silver Bell Soiree help support the mission of the Lafayette Community Health Care Clinic, to provide quality outpatient health care for the working uninsured and to develop and provide programs to address community health care needs through collaborative partnerships.  In 2009, the clinic provided medical and dental exams, nutritional counseling, lab/x-ray and consulting specialist referrals and eye exams valued at $712,600.00.  Additionally, 15,820 community pharmacy prescriptions were dispensed at a value of $987,000, during the same time period.

For every dollar donated, the clinic can provide five dollars of care and up to eight dollars worth of pharmaceuticals.  Your support of the Silver Bell Soiree  helps to build ONE healthy community.
